Chris Gayomali is a writer, editor, and brand consultant. Currently he’s an articles editor at GQ, where he’s worked since 2015, editing features and other stories for the magazine. Formerly, he was the site editor of GQ.com and a reporter at Fast Company, where he covered technology and wellness.
In 2019, Chris was selected as one of AdWeek’s “Creative 100” which honors the most innovative and visionary thinkers in media, tech, and advertising. The stories he’s edited have been anthologized in The Best American Sports Writing, selected for Longform’s annual Best of the Year lists, and have won awards from organizations such as the NYC chapter of The Society of Professional Journalists.
His own writing regularly goes viral—his October 2022 feature on cosmetic leg lengthening was even spoofed in an SNL sketch. On at least two occasions, and against better judgment, New York magazine has referred to him as a “cool person.”
In addition to writing and editing, he regularly works with C47 Creative, consulting on projects for brands like Nike and CashApp.
He was born and raised in Long Beach, California, and lives in Brooklyn with his wife, son, and an English bulldog named Hank.
